Gottfried Riedl (born November 22, 1940 in Vienna ; pseudonym: Götz Kappenberg ) is an Austrian actor and author .

Life

Born in Vienna, Gottfried Riedl was artistic director of the Nestroy Theater Company for 33 years. With this he completed more than a thousand appearances in Nestroy and Raimund pieces all over Europe . He used the pseudonym Götz Kappenberg for the dramaturgical processing of the pieces .

He also wrote works for radio, film and television. He is vice-president of the Raimund Society, secretary of the Nestroy Society and author and editor of several books on Raimund , Nestroy , Grillparzer and the Vienna Volkstheater .

In recent years he has completed the entire Raimund cycle as an actor at the Raimundspiele Gutenstein . He was also on the stage in Baden in pieces by Schnitzler, in Anzengruber's Das vierte Gebot und O Schicksal eines Fren (about Raimund) at the Theater in der Josefstadt , performed at Grafenegger Advent and with the Philharmonia Schrammeln at the Eckelshausen Music Days .

He held numerous readings and a. about E. Kästner , JW v. Goethe , F. Grillparzer , A. Grün , Ch.Sealsfield , G. Strnadt , J. Weinheber , J. Nestroy , F. Raimund , J. Weiland , A. Krutisch , Terramare , Roda-Roda etc.

Gottfried Riedl currently lives in Lower Austria , with whom Riedl associates his childhood. He grew up in Brand near Nagelberg and in Waldhausen near Zwettl in the Waldviertel and now lives in Schrick near Mistelbach (municipality of Gaweinstal ). His father was a civil servant in the Ministry of Social Affairs.

When his mother was paralyzed due to multiple sclerosis , his father asked the pastor to take the little boy in for 14 days. That became seven years. The boy even moved to Waldhausen with the pastor and two cows.

Gottfried Riedl is married and has two grown children and five grandchildren.
