Gottfried von Bures (French: Godefroy de Bures ; † March 1119 ) was a French crusader .

He was probably lord of Bures-sur-Yvette and Issy-les-Moulineaux ( Île-de-France ). By 1115 at the latest, he and his brother Wilhelm had made a pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Jerusalem . There both hired themselves as vassals of Joscelin of Courtenay , who was then Prince of Galilee .

In 1119 they took part in an attack on a wealthy Bedouin tribe who were grazing their flocks in the Hauran on the banks of the Jarmuk . They were ambushed and Gottfried was killed.

In the same year Joscelin became Count of Edessa and left Wilhelm the Principality of Galilee. As Wilhelm's heirs, Gottfried's children became princes of Galilee.

Gottfried had the following children:

  • Elias of Bures
  • Wilhelm von Bures, 1129 monk
  • Radulf von Bures († after 1164), Lord of Issy , 1160 Templar;
  • Simon von Bures , Prince of Galilee 1150–1153;
