Gotthard Marquard (Council Secretary)

Gotthard Marquard , recorded in Luebeck with Gotthard Marquar t jun. (* June 8, 1648 in Lübeck ; † August 31, 1694 ibid) was a German lawyer and council secretary in Lübeck.

Life

Gotthard Marquard was the son of the future mayor of Lübeck Gotthard Marquard . We have recorded a child enrollment in 1658 together with his older cousins ​​Otto Christoph Marquard (1641–1678) and Gotthard Johann (von) Marquard (1645–1710; imperial nobility 1701) at the University of Rostock . Gotthard Marquard later studied at the University of Helmstedt , where he received his doctorate in 1669 with a dissertation under Hermann Conring . In 1692 he was elected Third Council Secretary and Registrar of the Lübeck Council under the protonotary Arnold Isselhorst . He died in 1694, just five months after his father. Enoch Svantenius (the younger) wrote him a mourning poem.
