Gottlieb Ludolph Münter

Gottlieb Ludolph Münter (also: Gottlieb Ludolf Münter and Gotlieb Ludolf Münter as well as Theophilus L. Münterus and name variants; * before 1744 in Osterode am Harz ; † 1767 in Uslar ) was a German rector and preacher.

Life

Gottlieb Ludolph Münter, who was probably born in Osterode in the 17th century, studied at the Georg-August University in Göttingen and graduated in 1744 with the title of Master of Philosophy. He then first worked as the vice-principal of a school in Hildesheim , and from 1647 as the vice-principal of the Old Town School . In 1649 at the latest he was made an honorary member of the Royal German Society of Göttingen , which is why Münter published a letter of thanks.

After Hanover, Münter took over the post of rector in his hometown Osterode am Harz on September 25, 1751 .

Most recently, Münter was the first preacher in Uslar , where he died in 1767.
