The Grüte is a 29  hectare nature reserve in Oerlinghausen and Leopoldshöhe in North Rhine-Westphalia . Most of the area, managed with the object identifier LIP-038, is in the urban area of Oerlinghausen in the Lippe district on the northern slope of the Teutoburg Forest .

Characteristic

It is a morphologically pronounced Kerbtal with valuable beech forest . The Grütebach flows through the largely natural valley .

The original source of the brook in the settlement area of Oerlinghausen has been filled in and built over. From this source the terrain slopes down in a north to north-westerly direction. In the upper area there is a stream-accompanying ash forest. Later the brook crosses a limestone ridge in the Kerbtal, wooded with beech forest, and then continues into an open brook valley. Two still waters are used as fish ponds.

The nature reserve ends shortly before Gut Niederbarkhausen . The Grütebach feeds a pond here. It later changes its name to Holzkampbach and flows into the wind drift .
