Until the territorial reform in the GDR in 1952, it belonged to the district of Jerichow II in the state of Saxony-Anhalt (renamed the district of Genthin in 1950 ), since then to the district of Rathenow in the district of Potsdam and since 1990 in the state of Brandenburg and since 1993 to the district of Havelland in the state of Brandenburg.
