Grand Archives is an American indie rock band from Seattle . It was founded in 2006 under its original name Archives on the initiative of former Band of Horses member Mat Brooke .

history

After his departure from Band of Horses in 2006, Mat Brooke formed the band Archives with Jeff Montano and Curtis Hall . Ron Lewis joined the group later that year, as did Thomas Wright, who has been with the band since early 2007. In March 2007 they published two songs for the first time on their Myspace page. This was followed by an appearance with Sera Cahoone of Carissa's Wierd and recording the track "Sleep Driving" in the Forkcast - playlist by Pitchfork Media , making the band a wider public became known.

The Grand Archives

The debut album was released in 2008 under the title The Grand Archives . Following the release, a tour of the United States and Europe followed .

Keep in Mind Frankenstein

The release of their second album Keep in Mind Frankenstein in 2009 was followed by another extensive tour through the USA, Europe and Canada . On February 5th the Grand Archives played their first concert in Great Britain . Robin Peringer (guitar, keyboard) and Jason Kardong (guitar) supported the group of four during this performance after Ron Lewis had said goodbye.

Villains

During their 2010 tour, several new pieces were introduced, which will be found on the not yet completed third album Villains (expected title).

Since October 7, 2010, a total of seven demo recordings have been offered as demo EPs for free download on the official website .
