Band of Horses (previously only Horses ) is an American indie rock - and Dream-Pop - band . It was founded in Seattle in 2004 by Ben Bridwell, Mat Brooke, Creighton Barrett and Rob Hampton, and fifth band member Joe Arnone joined the group in 2006. You are under contract with the record label Sub Pop .

Their first album Everything All the Time recorded the band in the course of 2005 and released it on July 25, 2006. On July 13, 2006, the band announced that Brooke had left the group to pursue other music projects - especially his second Band Grand Archives , which also signed a contract with Sub Pop .
On October 9, 2007, the band released their second album, Cease to Begin , with which they pushed into the US album charts . Three years later they achieved their international breakthrough with the album Infinite Arms . On September 18, 2012, their album Mirage Rock was released.
