Grand Bassa County is an administrative region ( county ) in Liberia , it has a size of 7 936  km² and had 221,693 inhabitants at the last census (2008).

The administrative region is divided into eight districts. The capital is Buchanan in the Neekreen District.

Grand Bassa is on the Atlantic coast . The name Grand Bassa was derived from the Bassa ethnic group living here . Cape Brazier is on the coast .

politics

In the 2005 first Democratic Senate election after the Civil War, Gbehzohngar Milton Findley was elected as an independent candidate and Nathaniel Innis was elected by the LP .
