Grasshopper Cup 2014

The Grasshopper Cup 2014 took place from April 21 to 27, 2014 in Zurich , Switzerland . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2013/14 and belonged to the International 50 category .

Defending champion and last year's winner was Alister Walker , who was defeated in this year's tournament in the first round against the eventual tournament winner Amr Shabana with 5:11, 9:11 and 6:11. Shabana won in the final with 11: 6, 11: 9, 4:11, 8:11 and 11: 8 against Tarek Momen .

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 16 players, four of which are reserved for qualifiers. The eight best players were seeded. Per Wildcard received Reiko Peter a spot in the main draw.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 50,000.
