Greg Camarillo (born April 18, 1982 in Redwood City , California ) is a retired American football player in the position of wide receiver . He played with the San Diego Chargers , Miami Dolphins , Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints in the National Football League .

Career

College career

Camarillo completed his first season at Stanford University in 2000. In total, he completed four seasons and caught 46 passes for 614 yards of space. In addition to his regular position as a wide receiver, he was also part of the special team. He was awarded the Academic All- Pac-10 three times .

NFL career

Greg Camarillo was hired as a free agent by the San Diego Chargers in 2005 , but was rarely used there.

In 2007 , the Miami Dolphins signed the receiver. In December 2007 he caught a 64-yard pass in overtime, securing his team the only win of the season. It was also his first touchdown in the NFL. His second was in the last week of the game against the New England Patriots .

He extended his contract on November 20, 2008 for three years. He started his fourth touchdown three days later, but injured himself in the same game and was out for the rest of the season.

On August 25, 2010, Camarillo moved to the Minnesota Vikings in an exchange deal . The Miami Dolphins received cornerback Benny Sapp in return . After his contract with the Vikings was not renewed, he moved to the New Orleans Saints for the 2012 season . He was fired by the Saints before the season, but signed again for a month in mid-September due to the many injuries in the squad.
