Greg Gisbert
Gregory "Greg" Gisbert (* 2. February 1966 in Mobile , Alabama ) is an American jazz - trumpet and flugelhorn player of the modern jazz .
Gisbert worked in the big bands of Buddy Rich and Woody Herman in the 1980s and 1990s , then played a. a. with Gary Smulyan , Dave Grusin , Ken Peplowski , Scott Hamilton , Tim Ries and in the big band of Maria Schneider , where he took part on the 1992 album "Evanescence". In the 1990s he worked as a freelance musician in the New York area and during this time he recorded several albums under his own name, on which musicians such as Chris Potter , Billy Drummond , Conrad Herwig , Jon Gordon and Tim Ries participated. In 2011 he worked on Ryan Truesdells Centennial - Newly Discovered Works of Gil Evans . His role models are Clark Terry , Thad Jones and Tom Harrell .
