Career as a player

Nottingham Forest

Grenville Morris moved to the reigning English cup winner Nottingham Forest in 1898 at the age of 21 . In the First Division 1900/01 he reached fourth place in the table with his team and was thus one place behind local rivals Notts County . A better placement could not achieve Morris with his club in the following years, rather Forest rose in the First Division 1905/06 as a table penultimate in the Second Division. The second division was limited to only one year, because Nottingham Forest rose directly back to the first division. There the newcomer finished ninth and Morris teammate Enoch West won the top scorer's crown with 28 goals. In the 1910/11 season, Forest finished last for the first time and Morris had to go to the second division for the second time. He spent the following two years in the second-rate Second Division and ended his playing career in 1913. With 217 goals in 460 competitive games, he is still number one on Nottingham Forest's all-time goalscorer list.

Welsh national team

Grenville Morris played his first international match for the Welsh national football team in 1896 at the age of 18. He played a total of 21 international matches for the selection of his country, scoring nine goals. He played his last international match on March 12, 1912 against the English national football team .
