The sea rescue boat (SRB) Grietje was a boat of the so-called 7-meter class of the German Society for the Rescue of Shipwrecked People (DGzRS). It was built in 1972 by the Evers shipyard in Niendorf .
The internal name was KRST 14.
Naming
The name Grietje is a Frisian woman's name. The second name of the boat was Swanti , the name of an old Slavic deity. The renaming took place in April 1990 with the relocation to Vitte / Hiddensee .
Technical Equipment
The lifeboat was equipped with radio systems, echo sounder , GPS , external bilge pump and a rescue port.
Like all "real" boats of the 7 m class, the boat had no radar device (further explanation: Kaatje sea rescue boat ).
deployment
The Grietje was stationed in Kiel-Schilksee from March 16, 1972 . On April 10, 1990, she moved to the Vitte / Hiddensee station, where she stayed until April 15, 1993 and was then decommissioned. The boat was then given to a private museum in Blankenese. In the meantime, the lifeboat is exhibited as an umma in the International Maritime Museum Hamburg , to which the private collection has been transferred.
