The Large Schneeglocke (also bulk Schneeglocke , Italian Grande Cima della Campana ) is a 3425  m high peak in the crystal comb, one from the Stelvio to Ortles pass extending mountain range of western Ortles Alps , in turn, a mountain of the southern Ostalpen represent. The closest peaks are the Kleine Schneeglocke ( 3411  m ) in the western ridge and the Trafoier Eiswand ( 3565  m ) in the east . The Great Snow Bell, together with the surrounding mountains, is part of the Stelvio National Park .

First ascent

Julius von Payer made the first ascent on September 20, 1866 with the guides Johann Pinggera and Johann Thöni. Payer also gave the summit its name.
