The Great Auersberg is 808.6 m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the Bavarian part of the Rhön . It is located in the community-free area of the same name, Großer Auersberg, in the Bad Kissingen district, about three kilometers southwest of the center of Wildflecken . The Große Auersberg is covered with dense deciduous forest and is located within the Wildflecken military training area, which was built in 1938 . The entire area is a restricted military area , which civilians are not allowed to enter. The little lower Kleine Auersberg rises a good two kilometers to the west-southwest . Both are not to be confused with the Auersberg near Hilders in the Hessian part of the Rhön.
