The Great Karaman ( Russian Большой Караман ) is a left tributary of the Volga in Saratov Oblast , Russia .
geography
The river has a length between 198 and 220 kilometers, depending on the season. In the summer months, part of the upper course of the river usually dries up completely. The source of the river is located near the village of Pervomaiskoye in Obshchi Syrt , the watershed between the Volga and Urals .
The river flows mainly in westerly directions through agricultural areas, before turning north a few kilometers from its mouth. The Great Karaman flows into the Volga near Marx .
