The Great Mechowsee in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is located in the Mecklenburg Lake District in the east of Mecklenburg in the Feldberger Seenlandschaft nature park and the municipality of the same name southeast of its main town, Feldberg . The lake is approximately 900 meters long and over 500 meters wide. The east bank belongs to the state of Brandenburg . The lake lies in the course of the Mechowbach named after him , which comes from the Krüselinsee and flows into the Großer Küstrinsee , through which the Lychener waters flow, a left tributary of the Havel . The Große Mechowsee has two distinctive bays in the south. The lakeshore is quite hilly and almost entirely wooded.
The Große Mechowsee belongs to the nature reserve Krüselinsee and Mechowseen .
