The Große Schauener See is an approx. 1800 m long and 1200 m wide lake in the Oder-Spree district in the city of Storkow . It is located in the district of Groß Schauen , belongs to the Dahme-Heideseen nature park and is part of the Groß Schauener chain of lakes , as well as part of Sielmann's natural landscape, the Groß Schauener Lakes

geography

The Große Schauener See is located at the northern end of the Groß Schauener chain of lakes. In the west it goes over into the Schaplowsee , in the south into the Großer Wochowsee . The district of Groß Schauen is located on the north bank and is the namesake of the lake.

tourism

There is a fishery with an attached hotel and restaurant on the western shore of the lake. In the fishing museum, which is also part of the museum, preparations of local fish are exhibited. There is a public bathing area on the north shore of the lake. An osprey nest is attached to a power pole on the east bank . This can by means of a webcam to view and possibly existing Ospreys are observed in rearing their young.
Fishing is allowed in special areas of the lake.
