The Great Woising is a 2064  m above sea level. A. high summit in the Dead Mountains on the border between Styria and Upper Austria .

location

Towards the northeast, the mountain made up of Dachstein limestone from the Triassic breaks off steeply towards the Almsee . In the southwest it towers over the Henarwald and the mountain plateau of the Dead Mountains overgrown with pines towards the Albert-Appel-Haus . The 1879 m high Kleine Woising is located about 600 m to the west .

From the central region of Upper Austria and Linz , the Große Woising can be easily recognized due to its hemispherical rise roughly in the middle of the silhouette of the Dead Mountains.

Approaches

The Große Woising can be reached from the Appelhaus first 200 m along the long-distance hiking trail 201 / E4 in the direction of Pühringerhütte and then branching off to the northeast on the marked path no. 232 in 2 hours.

At the summit of the Woising there is a summit cross and a summit book is available.
