The Großopitzbach is a left tributary to the Schloitzbach in Tharandt , Saxony .
course
The Großopitzbach rises on the northern outskirts of Großopitz and flows around the summit Heiterer Blick (357 m) north along its entire course. In its upper reaches, the mostly piped brook flows south of the Great and Small Vineyards between the manor and the village of Kleinopitz with a north-westerly direction on the Kleinopitz district through the meadows of a Mulde valley. Then the stream takes a westerly direction and flows through the Tännichtgrund, where it is dammed above the Tännichtmühle in the Tännicht pond. The Kleinopitzbach flows out below the mill. In its lower reaches, the Großopitzbach takes a southerly direction south of the Hedwigsfeld. After 1.9 km, the Großopitzbach joins the Schloitzbach south of the Tannenberg at Erbgerichtsgasse on the Tharandt district ; to which the Scheibenbach flows in the immediate vicinity from the right .
With the exception of the Tännichtmühle, the entire valley of the Großopitzbach is not populated. District roads 9079 and 9080 lead from Großopitz and Kleinopitz downstream through the valley of the Großopitzbach.
