location

The graves are located about 1.8 km south of Grabowhöfe in the southwest corner of a forest. Grave 1 is on the edge of the forest directly on a road. description

Grave 1

Grave 1 has an east-west oriented rectangular barren bed with an original length of 23 m and a width between 6 and 7 m. Only seven stones remain of the enclosure, three of which are in situ . The burial chamber stands at right angles to the megalithic bed and, according to Ernst Sprockhoff, is to be referred to as an extended dolmen , according to Ewald Schuldt, on the other hand, as a large dolmen . On the eastern long side three wall stones can be seen that are deep in the ground. On the western long side, the northern one is in situ, the adjacent one has been moved. No other wall stones can be seen here. The two closing stones cannot be made out either. Only one of the capstones has survived. He is postponed. The dimensions of the chamber cannot be determined with certainty and were estimated by Sprockhoff to be 3 m long and 1.4 m wide.

Grave 2

Grave 2 has a flat mound. This contains a north-east-south-west oriented burial chamber, which is an enlarged dolmen. The chamber has a length of 3 m and a width of 1.4 m. It originally had one long and one short wall stone on the long sides and a capping stone each on the narrow sides. Five of these stones are still in situ. The long wall stone on the northwest side is missing, however. Possibly this is a dragged stone north of the chamber with a length of 1.4 m and a width of 1 m. The south-western capstone may have left an entrance to the chamber.

Grave 3

Grave 3 is a north-south oriented ancient dolmen . The chamber has a length of 2 m, a width between 0.75 and 0.9 m and a height of 0.95 m. It consists of three large wall stones and has an entrance on the north side. The western wall stone is 1.7 m long and 0.7 m thick. The eastern wall stone is 1.8 m long and 0.3 m thick. The southern end stone is 1 m long and 0.35 m thick. The access on the north side consists of two narrow wall stones, a threshold stone and a locking plate. The western beam is 0.4 m wide and 0.3 m thick, the eastern one is 0.6 m wide and 0.35 m thick. Both are 0.95 m high. The threshold stone has a length of 0.8 m, a thickness of 0.11 m and a height of 0.45 m. The locking plate is 0.7 m long, 0.5 m high and 0.05 m thick. To the east of the grave lies the 1.3 m long, 1.2 m wide and 0.85 m thick remnant of a capstone.

During an examination of the grave in 1951, a pavement made of sandstone slabs was found. A human skeleton lay on it in a stretched position with its head to the south.
