Great stone grave Pampow

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The large stone grave in Pampow was a megalithic grave system of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Pampow in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ). It was probably destroyed in the 19th century. It was located on the Pampow farm field and in 1836 still consisted of several wall stones and a single capstone. The exact type of grave cannot be determined with certainty based on this information. A beaker with a herringbone decor from a subsequent burial of the end-Neolithic individual grave culture was found in the complex , which came to the collection of the Archaeological State Museum Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in Schwerin , but has not been preserved.
