Large stone grave Röbel

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Röbel large stone grave (also called Jülchenkammer ) was a megalithic grave complex of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Röbel / Müritz in the Mecklenburg Lake District ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ). It was discovered during clearing work around or before 1929 and is believed to have been destroyed. No further information is available about the exact location, orientation, dimensions and type of grave. A larger vessel and two reddish-brown shards with a decoration of vertical and angled ribbons and furrow lines, probably from the lower part of an eyelet cup, were found among grave goods. The completely preserved vessel remained in private ownership, the shards are now in the collection of the Archaeological State Museum Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in Schwerin .
