The Gropehøgda ( Norwegian for sink height , Japanese グ ロ ー パ 東 台 Gropa-higasi-dai , German for 'Eastern Gropahöhe' ) is a 1395 m high mountain of the Sør Rondane in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . In the northern part of the Balchenfjella it rises east of the Gropeheia .
Scientists at the Norwegian Polar Institute named it descriptively in 1990 because the mountain is located in an area with numerous depressions .
