The Carl pit is a former iron mine in the Bensberg ore district in Bergisch Gladbach , which was also lent to Galmei . The site belongs to the Nussbaum district . The request for encouragement dates from June 6, 1853 under the name Findling. The award took place on September 24, 1866 with the name Carl. There were two points of discovery. At the southern end of the bush Horner path is a stockpile that of a sunk near bay comes. In the vicinity there are two larger pings at the edge of the forestfrom open pit mining. The second point of discovery is at the western end of Borngasse. Today there is a lake. According to the 1913 annual report, a total of 130 t of iron stone was extracted from the open-cast mine of the Paffrather Tonwerke. In November 1913, this open-cast mine sank due to persistent heavy rainfall and was never restarted. Nothing is known about other operating activities.
