The Hövel mine is a former lead mine in the Bensberg ore district in Bergisch Gladbach . The site belongs to the Sand district .

history

Due to a Mutungssgesuchs of 18 January 1865 was carried out ceremony of the mining area on August 11, 1868 the name Hovel to lead. There is no information about the operation of the mine.

Location and relics

The Hövel mine was between Rommerscheid and Bonnschlade . Several pings from the opencast mine and heaps are on a slope in the forest between the house Lohplatz 27 and the parking lot on Dombach-Sander-Straße. In the upper slope area you can see a pinge partly filled with garden waste, with two heaps in front of it. A tunnel may have been set up here.
