The Gries elementary school (previously Gries elementary school and Antonio Rosmini school ) is located in the Gries district of Bolzano in South Tyrol . It is housed in a listed building since 1985 .

The Gries primary school, a primary school with German as the language of instruction, is located in a building on Martin-Knoller-Strasse. This was built in 1908 in Art Nouveau forms based on designs by the Munich architects Alois and Gustav Ludwig . In order to create the area for the mighty new school building, the medieval Lofferer-Hof, the former Meierhof of the Hochstift Freising , was demolished. The school was inaugurated in September 1909. At that time it was called the Gries elementary school . In the course of the Italianization , it was renamed the Antonio Rosmini School in the 1920s . In 2008, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary, the school was named Grundschule Gries .
