The port of Grundsund

Grundsund is a locality ( Tatort ) in the Swedish province of Västra Götalands län and the historical province of Bohuslän .

The fishing village is on the island of Skaftölandet, commonly referred to as Skaftö , in Lysekil municipality , about 35 km west of Uddevalla . The church in Grundsund was built in 1799. In front of the church there is a memorial stone in memory of seafarers and fishermen who died.

The municipality of Lysekil extends along the 25 km long Gullmarsfjord, which forms the municipality boundary to the south, but also includes the island of Skaftö south of the fjord and the offshore archipelago. Other places on the island are Rågårdsvik and the nationally known holiday resort Fiskebäckskil . The archipelago is partly an old cultural landscape. The Gullmarsfjord has a unique marine biotope.
