Grzegorz Rosiński

Grzegorz Rosiński (born August 3, 1941 in Stalowa Wola , Poland ) is a Polish comic artist , painter and graphic artist . He was best known for the Thorgal comic series , which, like The Great Power of Little Schninkel, was created in collaboration with the Belgian author Jean van Hamme . The texts in the Hans series drawn by Rosiński come from André-Paul Duchâteau .

Rosiński published his first comics at the age of 16. He later graduated from the School of Fine Arts (Liceum Sztuk Plastycznych) and the Academy of Fine Arts (Akademia Sztuk Pięknych) in Warsaw. In 1968 Rosiński started his first two comic series, Kpt. Zbik and Kpt. Zloss (according to other information Kpt. Kloss ), which he drew until 1972. As a result of his collaboration with the Polish comic magazines Alfa and Relax , the Belgian publisher Lombard became aware of Rosiński, and in 1977 the comic La Croisière Fantastique, drawn under the pseudonym Rosek , appeared in Spirou magazine . In the same year, Rosińskis moved to Tintin , for whom he created the fantasy series Thorgal and Hans . In 1982 he moved to Belgium. Rosiński has lived in Switzerland in the Valais municipality of Mollens since 1992 .

Rosiński, who also does inking and lettering for his drawings , has received several international prizes for the albums in the Thorgal series . In September 2006 he was honored with the high order Polonia Restituta of the Republic of Poland for his artistic oeuvre.

In 2010 he was awarded the Belgian Order of Leopold II .
