Guðjón S. Brjánsson

Guðjón S. Brjánsson (German transcription Gudjon S. Brjansson ; born March 22, 1955 in Akureyri ) is an Icelandic politician of the Social Democratic Alliance .

Life

A degree as a social worker (at the then Stavanger Social University , Norway, 1979), Guðjón later trained as a seaman , a degree in leadership from the University of South Florida and most recently a Master of Public Health from Nordiska Högskolan för folkhälsovetenskap in Gothenburg (2014 ) consequences. Among other things, he worked as a manager of residential and care facilities for the elderly and disabled, as a program editor and journalist for the radio of the public broadcaster RÚV, as well as briefly as a shrimp fisherman . From 1993 to 2001 Guðjón S. Brjánsson was the health director of the city of Ísafjörður , from 2001 managing director of the Akranes Hospital and Health Center and from 2010 to 2016 of the West Iceland Health Center , which was created by the merger of eight health facilities in West Iceland.

In the parliamentary elections on October 29, 2016 , Guðjón S. Brjánsson was elected as the Alliance candidate for the Northwestern constituency in the Icelandic parliament Althing . As of July 2017, he is a member of the parliamentary committee for welfare.
