Gudrun Fiedler

Gudrun Fiedler (* 1956 in Wolfsburg ) is a German historian and archivist . Since 2006 she has been in charge of the Stade State Archives and the Stade location of the Lower Saxony State Archives .

Life

Fiedler studied history and German in Hanover and Braunschweig . In 1985 she received her doctorate . 1985 to 1989 Fiedler was a research assistant at the historical seminar of the TU Braunschweig (research project: engineering training at the Technical University Braunschweig, 1862-1914), 1986-1989 deputy chairwoman of the council of the TU Braunschweig. 1989–1991 she completed the archive clerkship in Osnabrück and Marburg . After positions at the Hildesheim City Archives , the Lower Saxony Main State Archives Hanover (with partial delegation to the Lower Saxony State Chancellery) and the Wolfenbüttel State Archives , she took over the management of the then Stade State Archives in 2006 .

In 1996 she was appointed to the Historical Commission for Lower Saxony and Bremen and has been a member of the Expert Committee of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg since 2017 in accordance with Section 14 (2) of the Cultural Property Protection Act . Since 2009 she has been the deputy chairwoman of the Stader Geschichts- und Heimatverein , and she is also a member of the scientific advisory board of the Archives of the German Youth Movement and the specialist commission for the promotion and further development of memorial work in Lower Saxony. It deals with regional economic and social history from the 18th to the 20th century, administrative history in Lower Saxony, the history of the youth movement and the history of universities and technology.
