Gerald Eríc Rodriquéz (born August 6, 1987 in Ponce , Puerto Rico ) (alias Guelo Star , G-Star , El Léon or La Pelicula Viviente ) is a Puerto Rican representative of reggaeton and hip-hop .

Beginnings (until 2006)

Guelo Star grew up in Ponce, he didn't know his father and his mother didn't care much about him. Gerald looked for a father substitute with the big dealers and gangsters, stopped going to school and told himself that he would one day be a star. Guelo Star started saying he was the best rapper in the neighborhood until someone challenged him and his lies were exposed. Then Gerald tried to earn money as a rapper. Through his friend Maximan , he got to know the duo Jowell y Randy in 2006 , who were looking for a group of several people for a project: The reggaeton group Casa De Leones was formed from this .

Casa De Leones (2007)

In 2007 the album Casa De Leones by the music group of the same name was released. Out of four released singles, Guelo Star appeared on only one, No Te Veo . However, he became known to a slightly larger audience through the group's concerts.

Somos De Calle Remix (2008)

In 2008, Guelo Star was invited by Daddy Yankee to rap on his Somos De Calle remix , along with many other young talents. Guelo Star accepted and promptly received several inquiries from various record labels.

Live Music (2009-)

In spring 2009, Guelo Star signed his first recording contract with Live Music , a sub-label of WY Records , the label of Wisin y Yandel . So far, his first three albums have been released on Live Music. He was also involved in the WY Records label sampler.
