The Guesalaga Island ( Spanish Islote Guesalaga , Bell Island in the United Kingdom ) is the more northerly of two islands off the east coast of Lecointe Island in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . The other is the Isla Viola , with which it forms the island group of the Islotes Sigrid .
The island is named after Federico Guesalaga Toro, head of the First Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1946–1947). The name given in the United Kingdom is named after the British anatomist Charles Bell (1774–1842).
