Guido Hildner

Guido Hildner (* 1958 ) is a German diplomat . He has been Ambassador to Vietnam since August 2019 .

Career

After studying and doing his doctorate (1991) with a thesis on the subject of the subordination of foreign diplomats to the administrative sovereignty of the receiving state , Guido Hildner joined the Foreign Service .

His activities included foreign assignments at the embassies in Colombo ( Sri Lanka ), Beirut ( Lebanon ) and Moscow ( Russia ), at the Permanent Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany to the United Nations in New York , at the Permanent Mission to NATO and, from 2003 until 2006 at the International Criminal Court in The Hague .

In addition, there are various uses in the Foreign Office in Bonn and Berlin. Until 2019, Hildner was head of the department for international law issues in the Federal Foreign Office.

Hildner has been the German ambassador to Vietnam since August 2019 , based in Hanoi .
