Gundelfingen is the smallest district of the city of Münsingen in the Reutlingen district in Baden-Württemberg.

Geographical location, protected areas

The place is located in the valley of the Große Lauter at the foot of a circulating mountain in the Swabian Alb area between Münsingen and Hayingen . Neighboring towns in the Lautertal are Bichishausen in the north and the Hayinger district of Indelhausen in the south .

history

Gundelfingen was first mentioned in 1112 as Gundilvingen . It was initially owned by the von Gundelfingen gentlemen . From the middle of the 15th century, the Truchsessen von Bichishausen, the Counts of Helfenstein , the Landsee and finally the Counts of Palm followed . In 1805 Gundelfingen came under Württemberg sovereignty. As part of the municipal reform in Baden-Württemberg , the place was incorporated into Münsingen on January 1, 1974.
