Dottingen is a district of the city of Münsingen in the Reutlingen district in Baden-Württemberg.

Geographical location, protected areas

The place is located on the plateau of the Kuppenalb around five kilometers northwest of Münsingen. The neighboring town is Rietheim .

history

Dottingen was first mentioned as Totingen in 1318 . The place belonged to the Lords of Speth from the neighboring Steingebronn. At the end of the 14th century the place appears as a fiefdom of the dukes of Teck . In 1562 and 1630 the Speth sold one half of the town to Württemberg. After the 30 Years War, Dottingen was temporarily part of Gruorn . From 1808 Dottingen belonged to the Oberamt (from 1938 district) Münsingen. As part of the municipal reform in Baden-Württemberg , the place was incorporated into Münsingen on July 1, 1971.
