history

The village was first mentioned in 1092 as Bichinishusin and was owned by the Counts of Achalm . At the beginning of the 13th century, the Bichishausen castle ruins were probably built by Swigger IV von Gundelfingen or Konrad II . In 1372 a Kuno Truchsess from Bichishausen fought on the Württemberg side in a battle against the imperial city of Reutlingen and fell. In the middle of the village, the baroque style Catholic parish church was built by Ferdinand Fürst zu Fürstenberg in 1735. The church is named after St. Gallus .

Until 1805, the border between Württemberg and Fürstenberg ran in Bichishausen . Today the customs house is a reminder of that time.

In the course of the municipal reform in Baden-Württemberg , Bichishausen was incorporated on January 1, 1975, together with Buttenhausen, Hundersingen, Magolsheim and Rietheim.
