Gunilla-Friederike Budde (born July 6, 1960 in Herford ) is a German historian .

Life

Gunilla Budde passed her first state examination in June 1986 at the University of Bielefeld , received her doctorate in February 1993 at the Friedrich Meinecke Institute of the Free University of Berlin and completed her habilitation there in February 2003. Since 2005 she has been professor of German and European history of the 19th and 20th centuries. and 20th century at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg .

Since September 2006 Budde has been chairwoman of the board of trustees of the toy museum in Soltau . From April 2007 to October 2010 she headed the Institute for History at her university. From October 1, 2010 to December 31, 2015, she was also part-time Vice President for Studies and Teaching at the University of Oldenburg. Since 2009 Gunilla Budde has been part of the Oldenburg “Historical Quartet”, which takes place twice a year. In 2010 Gunilla Budde was named chairman of the jury for North-West as part of the Federal President's history competition . Since April 2011 she has been a member of the advisory board of the Oldenburg State Library . Since April 2011 she has also been co-editor of the series Critical Studies in History . In February 2012 she was elected Deputy Chairwoman of the Oldenburg Museum Society, and in October 2012 she was appointed to the Advisory Board of the Johannes Rau Foundation . Since October 2012 Gunilla Budde has also been on the board of the Karl Jaspers Gesellschaft Oldenburg . On August 1, 2013, she was appointed to the supervisory board of the Oldenburg State Theater by the Minister for Science and Culture, Gabriele Heinen-Kljajic . In December 2014 Budde was elected as an external scientific member to a Senate Committee of the Leibniz Association . Since October 12, 2018, she has been a member of the general assembly of the Center for Contemporary History Research (ZZF). Gunilla Budde has been an elected member of the University Council of Kassel University since October 1, 2019.

Her work focuses on the European bourgeoisie of the 19th century, the history of the GDR , women's and gender history , history of the family , "history of the maid", "music and politics in the 19th and 20th centuries" and the history of ideas of the 20th century.
