Hilke Günther-Arndt

Hilke Günther-Arndt (born March 6, 1945 in Schwagstorf ; † January 1, 2019 in Berlin ) was a German historian and history teacher .

Life

Hilke Günther-Arndt had worked at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg since 1973 , in 1985/86 she represented Karl-Ernst Jeismann's chair for modern and contemporary history and history didactics in Münster , and since 1994 she has been an associate professor for history didactics in Oldenburg. She was temporarily dean of Faculty 3, Social Science , at this university.

After studying history , politics and mathematics , she worked in the school service. The doctorate and habilitation took place in Oldenburg. Her main areas of work included didactic research into teaching and learning , new media , and the design and implementation of textbooks for history lessons . So she was co-editor of the upper school textbook history book . She also dealt with issues of the history of education and the history of history teaching.

Hilke Günther-Arndt was married to the historian Wolfgang Günther (born March 2, 1927 in Münsterberg ; † July 8, 2012 in Berlin).
