The Gurnon Peninsula is a 16 km long and completely ice-covered peninsula on the Walgreen Coast of the West Antarctic Marie Byrd Land . It lies between the Park and Bunner Glaciers in the northeastern part of the Bear Peninsula .
The United States Geological Survey mapped them using their own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy during Operation Highjump (1946-1947) in January 1947. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 1967 after Paul Joseph Gurnon, commander of an LC-130 Hercules during of operation Deep Freeze the years 1965-1967.
