Gusel Jachina
Gusel Jachina (born June 1, 1977 in Kazan ) (also Guzel Shamilevna Yakhina , Russian Гузель Шамильевна Яхина , emphasis: Guzél Shamílevna Yákhina , Tatar Гүзәл Шамил кынаы Яхина is a Russian writer and filmmaker .
Life
Jachina studied German and English at the Kazan Tatar State University for Humanities and Education . In 2015 she finished her education at the State Moscow film school, Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography with the diploma . Her mother is a doctor, her father an engineer . In the family she only spoke Tatar . The Russian language they first learned in kindergarten . After completing her training, Jachina first worked in advertising, but began to publish her first articles in the Russian magazines Neva and Oktyabr . Parts of her novel Suleika Opens Her Eyes appeared in the journal Sibirskije Ogni .
Jachina is married to a Moscow entrepreneur and has one daughter. She lives in Moscow with her family.
Works
Jachinas debut novel tells of her Tatar grandmother, who in 1930 in the framework of the kulaks - program was deported to eastern Siberia. In the labor camp on the Angara , the kulaks were supposed to slowly become extinct. She has a child that was conceived during the marriage. After four children who died in infancy, she raises it and begins a love affair with her husband's murderer in the camp.
