Gustav A. Schneebeli

Gustav Adolphus Schneebeli (born May 23, 1853 in Neusalz , Prussia ; †  February 6, 1923 in Nazareth , Pennsylvania ) was a German-American politician . Between 1905 and 1907 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Gustav Schneebeli was born in Neusalz. He emigrated with his parents to the United States, where the family settled in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. There he also attended the public schools. He later moved to Nazareth where he worked in commerce. In 1888 he founded a company that produced top quality goods, of which he was the sole boss. Politically, he became a member of the Republican Party .

In the 1904 congressional election , Schneebeli was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the 26th  constituency of Pennsylvania , where he succeeded Democrat Joseph Horace Shull on March 4, 1905 . Since he was not confirmed in 1906, he could only serve one term in Congress until March 3, 1907 .

After his time in the US House of Representatives, Gustav Schneebeli resumed his previous work in the lace industry. He died on February 6, 1923 in Nazareth, where he was also buried.
