Gustav Adolf Keferstein (born December 13, 1799 (1798?) In Kröllwitz , † January 19, 1861 in Wickerstedt ) was a German Protestant pastor , critic and music writer . He often used the pseudonym Karl Stein .

family

Keferstein can look back on a long family history at Papiermüller. His father was Heinrich Christoph Adolph Keferstein (1773-1853), the mother was the daughter of a pastor Schwalenberg from Berßel . He still had three siblings. Keferstein married Emilie Schieferdecker from Dresden on March 2, 1824 . He had four children with her (1 son, 3 daughters).

Life

Keferstein started his career in Jena as a deacon at the garrison church . From 1840 to 1861 he worked as a pastor in Wickerstedt. Keferstein was a well-known music critic and close friends with Clara and Robert Schumann . He was a doctor of philosophy.
