Berßel is a district of the town of Osterwieck in the Harz district in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
The place is located in the northern Harz foreland on the Ilse , southeast of Osterwieck. The connecting roads Osterwieck- Zilly , Deersheim - Wasserleben run through the village . Furthermore, a road leads to Schauen .
climate
The annual precipitation is 584 mm and is therefore comparatively low, as it falls in the lower quarter of the values recorded in Germany. Lower values are registered at 18% of the measuring stations of the German Weather Service . The driest month is February, with the most rainfall in June. In June there is 2.4 times more rainfall than in February. The rainfall varies greatly. Lower seasonal fluctuations are recorded at 74% of the measuring stations.
history
Berßel belonged to the Diocese of Halberstadt until 1648 and then came to the Principality of Halberstadt. In the village there was a manor that belonged to the von Rössing family from 1398 to 1832 and was the seat of a patrimonial court until 1848 to which the village was subordinate. In 1815 Berßel came to the administrative district of Magdeburg in the Prussian province of Saxony .
On September 30, 1928, the manor district of Berßel was united with the rural community of Berßel.
On January 1, 2010, the previously independent communities of Berßel, Aue-Fallstein , Bühne , Lüttgenrode , Rhoden , Schauen and Wülperode merged with the city of Osterwieck to form the new city of Osterwieck.
