Local history
Lüttgenrode belonged to the Diocese of Halberstadt until 1648 , later to the Principality of Halberstadt. The place was directly subordinate to the Stötterlingenburg- Wülperode office and in 1815 came to the administrative district of Magdeburg of the Prussian province of Saxony . From 1961 the place was directly in the border area of the GDR and could only be reached with a special permit. On January 1, 2010 the previously independent municipalities of Lüttgenrode, Aue-Fallstein , Berßel , Bühne , Rhoden , Schauen and Wülperode merged with the city of Osterwieck to form the new city of Osterwieck. The district of Stötterlingen, which was incorporated on July 1, 1973, belonged to the former municipality of Lüttgenrode.

The coat of arms was approved on July 16, 1997 by the Magdeburg Regional Council.
Blazon : “Split by red and silver; in front a silver tower growing out of the lower right edge of the shield with two black round-arched window openings arranged in bars in a round-arched wall niche and a black-contoured roof with tall, pointed twin towers; behind a blue wavy bar, covered by an upright blue hoe, the leaf turned to the left. "
The colors of the former municipality are red - silver (white).
Much can be learned about the history of the community from the additions in the helmets of the church towers. That is why the striking twin helmets of the former nunnery church are the symbol of the community. As one of the main characters on the coat of arms, he best embodies the town of Lüttgenrode. The district of Stötterlingen, created as a clearing site on the course of the Ilse, is represented by the wave beam and the hoe.
