Stage is a district of the town of Osterwieck in the Harz district in Saxony-Anhalt .

Geographical location

The place is in the northern Harz foreland not far from the Ilse , northwest of Osterwieck and southeast of Hornburg in Lower Saxony .

history

Stage was first mentioned in 1202 with Liudolfo de Bunede . In 1224 the place is mentioned as Bunethe , 1247 as Bunede and 1310 as Bynedhe . The name comes from the nd. Groyne , "increase on the bank" or from the ahd. Buni , "stage, raised, horizontal floor". The ending -ede, which has since been ground off, is visible in other places in the region such as Leiferde , Denkte or Lengde and is analogous to English. -th (wealth, strength etc.).

At the beginning of the 14th century, the von Berwinkel and von Krebs families were well-to-do. The Stötterlingenburg monastery also had properties here. The village as a whole belonged to the cathedral chapter of Halberstadt . When the Regensteiners sold their rights to Stötterlingenburg and its accessories in 1343 , the relevant part of the stage went to the Brunswick dukes . In 1363 Bishop Ludwig von Halberstadt pledged the stage including Wülperode and other places to the von der Gowische family; In 1383, Bishop Albrecht III. the same villages as those of Rössing zu Pfand, a contract that was later renewed several times. In 1481, representatives of the von Burgsdorf family found themselves as feudal people of the bishopric in Bühne.

A pastor is mentioned in Buhne as early as 1310. The patronage of the church in 1564 was Stötterlingenburg Monastery. In the same year Bühne had 31 landlords and around 1900 there were around 300 residents with main occupation in agriculture.

Until 1648, Bühne belonged to the Halberstadt Monastery and then passed to the Principality of Halberstadt. The place was directly subordinate to the Stötterlingenburg- Wülperode office and in 1815 came to the administrative district of Magdeburg of the Prussian province of Saxony .

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent communities Hoppenstedt and Rimbeck were incorporated.

From 1961 the place was directly in the border area of the GDR and could only be reached with a special permit.

On January 1, 2010, the previously independent communities of Bühne, Aue-Fallstein , Berßel , Lüttgenrode , Rhoden , Schauen and Wülperode merged with the city of Osterwieck to form the new city of Osterwieck.

In addition to the main town of Bühne, the towns of Hoppenstedt and Rimbeck , which were incorporated on July 1, 1950, also belonged to the former community .
