Gustav Alexander Bielitz

Gustav Alexander Bielitz (born May 27, 1769 in Liebenwerda ; † May 1841 in Naumburg (Saale) ) was a German lawyer.

Life

Born the son of a judicial officer, he studied in Wittenberg from October 17, 1788 . At the University of Wittenberg completed the degree of licentiate and received his doctorate on July 4, 1794 as a doctor of law. After completing his studies, he went to Dresden, where he practiced and was literary until 1811.

In 1819 he went to Naumburg, where he privately wrote several writings. Particularly noteworthy is his " Commentary on General Land Law for the Prussian States ". This commentary, the first edition of which appeared in eight volumes from 1823 to 1830, is the first major commentary on Prussian land law. The work followed the code of law in its structure, and he succeeded in clearly conveying the entire extensive material. A number of other commentaries on Prussian law are based on it.

Other works to be mentioned are “ The Prussian judicial constitution in its peculiarity compared to the Saxon one ” (1817, 1818), “ Handbuch des Prussischen Kirchenrechts ” (1818, 1831), “ Explanations of the Prussian law on the mandate summary and minor litigation from June 1, 1833 ”(1833) and the ministerial instruction“ Analysis and explanation of the Prussian law on the appeal of revision and correctness complaint of December 14, 1833 ”(1834). He also wrote several versions for the Kameralistische Zeitung and Hinschius' Juristische Wochenschrift .
