Gustav Bockermann

Gustav Bockermann (born September 12, 1894 in Stedefreund ; † March 13, 1973 in Bielefeld ) was a German politician and district leader of the NSDAP.

Life

Gustav Bockermann was born the son of the master carpenter Ernst Bockermann and attended the preparation institute in Schildesche after graduating from primary school . Subsequently, from 1912 to 1914, he participated in the teachers' seminar in Lüdenscheid . When the war broke out , he volunteered and joined a regiment in Rastatt . In 1915 he was seriously wounded. As a lieutenant in the reserve, he attended the teachers 'college for a few months after the 1918 revolution before taking the teachers' examination in July 1919. He found a job as a teacher at the Protestant elementary school in Gladbeck and carried out this activity until 1935, when he became rector at the Pestalozzi School in Bottrop. On April 1, 1936, he returned to Gladbeck as head of the Protestant Augusta elementary school. He stayed here until April 1938, when he became a school councilor for the Coesfeld district . He held this office until 1945. In the period from September 30, 1933 to November 28, 1934, Bockermann was an honorary alderman for the city of Gladbeck. He was dismissed from this position at his own request because of excessive workload. Bockermann took part in the war as a soldier in the Wehrmacht and was a company commander in July 1941 until he became a captain in the staff in August 1944. He became a prisoner of war and was taken to various internment camps, most recently in Fallingbostel, where he was released on November 14, 1947. In the denazification process , he was classified in category IV. After being re-appointed in 1951 (Category V), after having worked as an unskilled worker in a Bielefeld textile company, he was able to work again as a primary school teacher at the Sudbrack School in Bielefeld from May 1, 1952. He retired as rector.
