Gustav Faber (journalist)

Gustav Faber (born August 15, 1912 in Badenweiler ; † April 5, 1993 in Badenweiler) was a German journalist , travel writer and non-fiction author .

Life

Gustav Faber received his doctorate in German and history . From 1949 he was the author of the cultural magazine Das Artwork . Great reputation he gained through his many - especially cultural history oriented - travelogues . His travels took him to Latin America , the Orient and the Mediterranean . In 1953 he was awarded the Karlsruhe City Prize for Culture . Since the Second World War , Faber has lived as a freelance author in his hometown of Badenweiler in the Black Forest .
